Camp @ K.I.W.I. 2017

Camp @ K.I.W.I. will seek to deeply reconnect children to nature. This immersive experience will help inspire and build a love and appreciation of being active outdoors in nature.

Welcome To Adventure Camp!

Children will explore the beautiful trails of Rouge Park with a focus on having great adventures. The Adventure Camp experience is fueled by curiosity and imagination. Our campers will also engage in games, crafting and activities that will help develop outdoor skills, while discovering the natural environment. The K.I.W.I. experience promotes health, wellness and physical fitness, so the physical challenge of exploring in a natural and wild environment is a central component of our summer camp experience. Not to worry, activities are accessible to all skill and physical fitness levels. We are all about inclusion and fun!

Summer Camp Safety

Rouge Park is a a safe and fun place to visit. To ensure that your child has the best experience possible, please consider the following tips:

Dress for the Weather: Please remind parents to check the forecast for the day and dress children appropriately. All students should be wearing a hat, and appropriate footwear.

Insect Repellant: Mosquitoes and ticks will be active in the park. All participants should be wearing effective insect repellant.

Be “Tick Smart”

  1. 1. Inspect all of your child's skin at the conclusion of each trip in the Rouge for any ticks that may be present. If you discover a tick remove it immediately

  1. 2.Consider wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants while in the park.

Poison Ivy

Some plants aren’t as friendly as others, and Poison ivy is one of them! Poison ivy can be found in the park, and the old adage of “leaves of three, let it be”, is a wise tip to avoid coming in contact with this tricky plant.
